Some thoughts on Life, Inspiration, and Design

Design-a-palooza!

So, it has been quite a crazy time these past few weeks… what with not having an office to go to, and my primary job being to watch my son Cooper. You may think–as I did–that the more time that I am at home, would automatically serve as a positive for my design life (I mean, it does theoretically make sense).

But what I have noticed is that when you stay home with your 15 month old son, day-after-day, week-after-week, you end up looking more like a stay-at-home dad, and less of the artist that you want to be. I have developed an incredible appreciation for moms (and dads) that stay home full time to raise their children… seriously… hats-off to you… BUT THAT IS NOT ME :) !

I do not want to give the impression that it has been a quiet few weeks, as far as design inquiries is concerned. Because in fact, it has been the opposite. I have had several requests, ranging everywhere from brochure layout and web graphics, to church logos and conference branding! So my lack of design is not for lack of jobs, but rather lack of time… which leads me to what this post is really all about… my 17 hour design binge.

I spent the majority of my day yesterday (leading late into the night, and even earlier into this morning) working, working, working! And I LOVED IT! I can’t quite divulge all of the projects, but I can give you just a few snippets of the pieces I worked on yesterday… It feels good to be back! :)
